England's Red Roses extend record run despite absentees

England's Red Roses secured their 35th consecutive Test win with a commanding 84-7 victory over Scotland at Murrayfield, scoring 12 tries in a statement performance. The world champions, missing 10 players through injuries and pregnancies, had already beaten Ireland 33-12 in their Six Nations opener. Despite the absentees including World Cup-winning captain Zoe Stratford, England's strength in depth appears limitless.

Veteran prop Sarah Bern (81 caps) and 19-year-old debutant Demelza Short represented the squad's dual experience levels. Short went from playing for England's U18 side just a year ago to a fully-fledged Red Rose last weekend. Bern explained the team's philosophy: "Rugby doesn't care what you did last week. It doesn't care if you won a World Cup. It's how you show up on the day."

England face Wales at Ashton Gate in Bristol on Saturday. Bern stated the squad remains ambitious despite their success: "We haven't put a performance out that we're super proud of yet. We want to showcase that all our Red Roses have amazing abilities and we want to show women's rugby is a fantastic game to watch."
