England advanced to a commanding 357-run lead over Pakistan on a rain-disrupted third day of the second Test at Lord's, with Dan Lawrence (50no) anchoring the innings. Lawrence struck a six to long-on during his 64-ball half-century, guiding England to 177-7 at stumps.

Intermittent showers delayed play for nearly three and a half hours, with Emilio Gay and Harry Brook finally batting at 2:20pm. Mohammad Abbas exploited the conditions, taking 3-48, dismissing Gay lbw and pinning Brook with an unplayable delivery that jagged away to Mohammad Rizwan.

An early tea was called due to rain, but three balls later, Mohammad Ali trapped Gus Atkinson in front. Play was eventually abandoned at 6:30pm due to bad light, frustrating fans who had waited in the stands.

Lawrence and Ollie Robinson (2no) will resume on Sunday for day four, with England well-placed to secure victory.
