Promoter Eddie Hearn believes Tyson Fury remains in his prime and his planned 2026 return is excellent for boxing. Hearn told Sky Sports News that Fury, 37, looks energized by recent training videos. The former heavyweight champion hasn't fought since losing a second decision to Oleksandr Usyk in December 2024.

Fury announced his comeback in January, ending a brief retirement. He's expected to take a warm-up fight before facing a major heavyweight contender later in 2026. Hearn noted Fury's social media activity has increased, showing renewed passion for the sport and a clear focus on physical preparation.

While a fight with Anthony Joshua was once discussed, Hearn indicated those plans are now on hold. Joshua is currently away from boxing following a car crash in Nigeria that killed two close friends and team members. Hearn emphasized that any decision on Joshua's future rests with the fighter himself.
