World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka was knocked out of the Cincinnati Open after a shocking straight-sets defeat to unseeded Czech player Sara Bejlek. The 35th-ranked Bejlek rallied from 5-1 down in the first-set tiebreaker and came from 4-1 behind in the second set to win 7-6(7) 6-4 in just under two hours, advancing to the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 event.

The 20-year-old Bejlek, who will next face Madison Keys, said she felt incredible and kept believing throughout the match. Her victory means Elena Rybakina can replace Sabalenka as world No. 1 by reaching the Cincinnati final.

Meanwhile, Coco Gauff advanced to the quarter-finals after sweeping past 22nd-seeded Marie Bouzkova 6-3 6-2 in just one hour and 33 minutes. The fourth-seeded Gauff will face Marta Kostyuk next for a spot in the semi-finals.

On the men's side, Tommy Paul saved a match point to defeat top seed Alexander Zverev 4-6 7-6(6) 6-4 after a nearly 90-minute rain delay. Frances Tiafoe also recorded a milestone victory, upsetting second seed Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-4 6-4. Paul will face Flavio Cobolli in the quarters, while Tiafoe meets Lorenzo Musetti.
