Castleford Tigers RLFC have announced that head coach Ryan Carr will not return to his role following a period away. The Australian coach, who signed a three‑year deal at the start of the season, missed the club’s last two matches for personal reasons.

The Tigers currently sit 9rd out of 14 teams in the Super League. With Carr’s departure, the club will seek a new leader to guide them through the remainder of the campaign.

In a brief statement, the club thanked Carr for his efforts and wished him and his family all the best. Both parties will provide no further comment.

The announcement comes as the league continues its final charge, with several teams still in contention for playoff spots.
