Caroline Dubois "has the ingredients" to succeed Katie Taylor as one of boxing's biggest stars, according to Most Valuable Promotions partner Nakisa Bidarian. Ireland's undisputed super-lightweight champion Taylor, 40, fights for the final time on September 5 in Dublin, while lightweight world champion Dubois defends her WBC and WBO titles against Amelia Moore on August 29 in Birmingham, live on Sky Sports.

Bidarian told Sky Sports that women's boxing "has never been stronger" despite Taylor and Amanda Serrano nearing retirement. He compared Dubois to legends including Taylor, Serrano, Laila Ali, Christy Martin and Ronda Rousey. "The sport is in a great place," he added.

Meanwhile, promoter Dmitry Salita declared Claressa Shields "definitively the No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in women's boxing today." The two-time Olympic gold medallist is 18-0 and a three-weight undisputed champion. Shields faces Kaye Scott in Atlanta this weekend while dropping to middleweight.

The move could set up a blockbuster with Britain's Lauren Price, who holds three welterweight belts. Salita remains optimistic despite previous negotiation impasses: "We're close. Claressa is moving down to 160 pounds because she wants to make this fight happen."
