Cammy Devlin has described the period surrounding his transfer to Rangers during the World Cup as "too stressful." The midfielder was with Australia at the tournament, having just concluded his time with Hearts.

Speculation about a move to join manager Derek McInnes and captain Lawrence Shankland at Ibrox was rife throughout the World Cup. Devlin admitted the constant uncertainty made it difficult to enjoy the experience. "It was hard to enjoy being in the moment and being at the World Cup and dealing with all that and all the noise around it," he stated.

The transfer was finalized on July 11, the day after Hearts confirmed his departure. Devlin subsequently made his debut for Rangers in a friendly win against St Etienne. He expressed relief that the stressful period is now over, looking forward to his new chapter at Rangers.
