Joshua Buatsi says he is open to a world title rematch with Zach Parker, provided both men win their upcoming fights. Parker faces the dangerous Austrian Umar Dzambekov at the Copper Box Arena on Saturday. Parker believes he was robbed in their previous encounter and remains bitter about the points reversal.
Later that night, Buatsi defends the vacant WBC light-heavyweight world championship against Willie Hutchinson. Buatsi expects to defeat Hutchinson and win the WBC belt, calling it the opportunity he has trained for many years. He feels he has boxed better opposition than Hutchinson and expects a better version of the fighter.
Parker, however, insists he must focus on Dzambekov, stating this is his job regardless of who is in front of him. He claims everyone he meets mentions Parker won the Buatsi fight. Buatsi previously could not comprehend being on the floor and thinking he won.
He is simply expecting a better version of himself and a better Hutchinson. Parker says he is like old-school boxers who must go out and do their job no matter who is in front.
