Brilliant Star and Alla Stella lead a 13-runner field in the Listed British Stallion Studs EBF Beckford Stakes at Bath, live on Sky Sports Racing. Brilliant Star, a two-time winner from her first three starts, returned with an encouraging fourth in the Ribblesdale after a disappointing Goodwood run. Alla Stella, with one career win, has run with credit in quality contests all summer, most recently finishing third at Dundalk in this grade, and will be ridden by Luke Morris.
Pierian, trained by William Haggas and ridden by Tom Marquand, has improved with every start and impressed when defeating Asset at Bath last month, earning another chance at this level. Lady Vivian and Venetia are noted as the best of the rest. The card also features a handicap chase for Courageous Sioux seeking a hat-trick at 5.25pm, and a clash between recent winners Nostrum and Not That Guy at Southwell at 8.30pm.
Additional highlights include Oisin Murphy riding Moneefa in France’s Prix Esmeralda and Bath’s EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes featuring Debutante and Blake’s Lass.
