Kerim Alajbegovic, Bosnia's youngest-ever World Cup player, opened scoring in the 30th minute with a spectacular long-range strike from over 25 yards. Edin Dzeko doubled the lead five minutes later when his volley deflected off Sultan Al Brake for an own goal, credited to Qatar goalkeeper Abunada. Qatar responded through Hassan Al Haidos in the 43rd minute, but couldn't find an equalizer despite hitting the post twice.

Substitute Ermin Mahmic sealed the win in the 81st minute, adding to his goal against Switzerland earlier in the tournament. The victory gives Bosnia their second-ever World Cup win and maintains their slim chance of reaching the last 32 for the first time in the nation's history.
