Barcelona are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Manchester City forward Kerolin for a fee of €1.5m (£1.28m). This transfer would set a new record for the Women's Super League (WSL), surpassing the £1m move of Olivia Smith to Arsenal last summer.

Kerolin, who joined City in January of last year, still had two years remaining on her contract. Barcelona's strong determination to acquire her could see them smash their previous transfer record by over 200%. Their prior most expensive signing was Keira Walsh in 2022 for €470,000 (£400,000).

Last season, Kerolin was instrumental in Manchester City's WSL title win, scoring nine goals in 15 appearances. Barcelona has already seen forward Salma Paralluelo depart this summer.
