Aston Villa pursue Tammy Abraham

Aston Villa are actively pursuing Roma striker Tammy Abraham. The 28-year-old is on loan at Besiktas, where he has scored 13 goals this season. Villa officials watched him play in Istanbul on Monday, with the club seeking a forward replacement after selling Donyell Malen to Roma last week.

Any deal is complicated by Abraham's loan status. Besiktas would need to secure a replacement before his potential early exit. Villa's need for attacking depth is clear, though their high wage bill and UEFA fine create financial constraints. They recently missed out on Conor Gallagher due to a loan-versus-buy disagreement.

Abraham knows Villa well, having scored 26 times in 40 appearances during a successful 2018/19 loan spell that secured promotion. The striker, who joined Roma from Chelsea in 2021, also spent time at AC Milan. His return could provide Unai Emery with a proven Premier League option as Villa chase European qualification.
