Wrexham reignited their Sky Bet Championship play-off hopes with a 2-0 home victory over Stoke City. The win, sealed by first-half goals from George Thomason and Josh Windass, cut the gap to sixth place to just two points with three games remaining.

Hull City's home draw with Birmingham earlier in the day had given Wrexham a lifeline, but anxiety hung over the SToK Cae Ras after consecutive defeats to Southampton and Birmingham. Manager Phil Parkinson made four changes, including a surprise recall for goalkeeper Danny Ward, who hadn't played since dislocating an elbow in August.

Thomason opened the scoring in the 31st minute with a corner that flew straight into the net, while Windass added a second just 69 seconds later after capitalizing on Aaron Cresswell's mistake. Stoke, who have now suffered six consecutive away defeats, remain in 17th place as their season winds down with little to play for.
