By the numbers, the 2026 World Cup has been mammoth: 102 games over 35 days across Canada, the United States and Mexico. FIFA president Gianni Infantino travelled over 50,000 miles via private jet. Yet some fans from the final four teams have attended every match. ESPN tracked three superfans to learn their journey, costs, and whether it's worth it.

Spain's trumpeter Sete Fernández has attended all 37 games of Spain's record-equalling unbeaten run. "I'm really making the most of it," he said, describing a rollercoaster of emotions and exhausting travel. His group shares accommodation and flights to stretch budgets, staying in crowded hostels. "For Spain, whatever it takes." Fernández started with a trumpet at Euro 2004 and now identifies with Spanish fans' luck charm.

Argentina's face-painted superfan Rodrigo Gonzalez Cejas has been at every game, even without tickets. "It's been much more expensive than Qatar, about $30,000 more," he said. He experiences matches from outside stadium gates, soaking in the atmosphere. Since the 2014 World Cup, he has attended every Argentina game, qualifiers included.

England's three lions superfan similarly embodies dedication. All express exhaustion but hope their sacrifice yields a trophy.
