This decision required amending league regulations that previously only allowed surnames. The move was supported by top executives from Chilean clubs.

Despite this jersey approval, significant questions remain about Vozinha's arrival at Colo-Colo, Chile's most successful club. The 40-year-old goalkeeper, announced as a marquee signing, has faced multiple flight and visa delays, failing to arrive as scheduled.

Colo-Colo director Jaime Pizarro assured that the deal is still active, stating he recently spoke with Vozinha's agent. Vozinha reportedly requested an extension to handle "personal matters." Colo-Colo president Aníbal Mosa confirmed the contract is not yet signed, and wearing his nickname was a reported condition for accepting the deal.

Coach Fernando Ortiz also spoke with Vozinha, sensing his excitement for the move despite the ongoing personal issues. Ortiz expressed hope that Vozinha resolves his situation soon so he can join the team.
