The United States women's national team will host world No. 1 Spain in two friendly matches in October, as announced by U.S. Soccer. The first game will take place at Audi Field in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 10, followed by a second at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania, on Oct. 13. These matches serve as crucial tune‑ups for the 2027 World Cup.

USWNT head coach Emma Hayes expressed excitement, noting the difficulty of scheduling top teams and the value of testing against Spain on the East Coast. Spain, the reigning World Cup champion, last met the U.S. in 2020 and 2022, winning the 2022 match 2‑0.

Spain secured direct qualification by topping its group, beating England 4‑0 in a decisive win. The U.S. will also debut its new national training center near Atlanta, Georgia, ahead of the matches.

These games mark the first international fixtures for both sides in four months, following Spain’s World Cup run and the U.S.’s recent friendlies in Brazil. The pair will provide a stern test ahead of World Cup qualifying later this year.
