Al Ahli striker Ivan Toney has accused Saudi Pro League officials of favoring Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr in the title race, following controversial officiating in his team's 1-1 draw with Al Fayha. The England international, who leads the league with 27 goals, expressed frustration after two clear penalty appeals were rejected despite VAR review. His teammate Galeno went further, claiming the league "wants to hand the trophy to one person."

The result dropped Al Ahli to third place, four points behind Al Nassr who have a game in hand. Toney questioned why the referee dismissed his team's penalty claims and told them to "focus on the AFC Champions League" instead. Al Ahli later issued a formal statement condemning "unfair refereeing decisions" that "neither serves the development of the competition nor upholds the principle of competitive fairness."

Ronaldo's Al Nassr has not won the Saudi title since 2018-19 and currently sits two points clear of second-place Al Hilal. With the title race reaching its critical stage, Toney acknowledged Al Ahli's chances depend on receiving fair treatment from officials. "We move on, we do what we can do, hopefully we get some fair ones," he said. Al Nassr travels to Al Okhdood on Saturday as the season approaches its decisive phase.
