Spain's sports minister Milagros Tolón insists the country "deserves" to host the 2030 World Cup final, rejecting reports that FIFA president Gianni Infantino offered the title match to Morocco. FIFA denied the claim Wednesday, and Tolón told Cadena Ser radio that Spain will continue working with FIFA ahead of a September meeting.

Spain is the only nation holding both men's and women's senior World Cup titles simultaneously, with the women winning in 2023 and the men capturing the European Championship and a second star last month. Tolón emphasized Spain's joint bid with Portugal, later joined by Morocco, plus its modern infrastructure, security, and experience hosting major events.

Morocco hopes to stage the final at the planned 115,000-seat King Hassan II Stadium near Casablanca, while Spain offers the home stadiums of Real Madrid and Barcelona. The 2030 World Cup will open in Montevideo, Buenos Aires, and Asunción before shifting to the Iberian Peninsula and Morocco.
