Liverpool secured a 1-0 victory over AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday, with new signing Jérémy Jacquet earning praise from manager Andoni Iraola for his impressive performance.

Jacquet, 21, recently received his first senior call-up for France, and Iraola noted his adaptation to the Premier League. "He's still very young, he is adapting really well to the Premier League," Iraola said. "Today has been a step forward. He looked solid until the end."

The win was sealed by a second-half strike from Alexander Isak, who has now scored four league goals this season. "He had a couple of crosses that he doesn't hit properly, one chance [he couldn't] control," Iraola admitted. "I think he has to help us to be closer to the box, to play in the opposition half."

Liverpool's clean sheet marked their third consecutive Premier League shutout, the first such run since the start of the 2024-25 season. Despite the win, Iraola warned of a challenging schedule ahead featuring top-four opposition, Champions League fixtures, and a Carabao Cup tie against Chelsea.
