Marcos Llorente opened the scoring within six minutes following a Kinsky error, and Antoine Griezmann doubled the lead before Julián Álvarez made it 3-0.

Kinsky's mistakes proved costly as Atlético Madrid raced to a 3-0 lead. Coach Igor Tudor had seen enough and replaced him with Guglielmo Vicario, but the damage was done. Robin Le Normand added a fourth goal minutes later, before Pedro Porro scored a consolation for the visitors.

The Czech keeper was making his first Champions League start for Spurs since qualifying and his first competitive appearance since October. Tudor, appointed last month, now faces mounting pressure as Tottenham have lost their last five matches heading into this fixture.
