Seventeen-year-old Brian Madjo was a standout in the first half, scoring twice, including the opener from a Kosta Nedeljković cross. George Hemmings added a second, and Madjo completed his brace shortly after. Gomes, acquired from Wolves for £34 million ($40m), played his first 45 minutes for Villa in the second half.
