Inter Miami has completed the signing of Germán Berterame from Monterrey, making the Mexican forward their newest Designated Player. The club paid his $15 million release clause, securing his services through 2029 with an option for an extra year.

Berterame brings a strong goal-scoring record from Liga MX, including 31 goals in 93 games and a Golden Boot in the 2021 Apertura. The 26-year-old recently netted the winner for Mexico in a World Cup warm-up against Bolivia, underlining his international value.

The move boosts Miami’s attacking options alongside Lionel Messi and adds depth to their roster after last season's MLS Cup triumph. Berterame’s comments revealed Messi’s influence in the decision, calling it a “beautiful” new chapter.
