FIFA announced plans for the final phase of 2026 World Cup ticket sales, with over one million tickets already sold since December. The governing body revealed that additional tickets will go on general sale April 1 through the end of the tournament, which runs from June 11 to July 19.

This latest phase follows FIFA president Gianni Infantino's January claim that demand was equivalent to "1,000 years of World Cups at once." The announcement comes after significant backlash over ticket pricing, with fans accusing FIFA of a "monumental betrayal" when prices ranged from $140 for group games to $8,680 for the final.

Football Supporters Europe joined with consumer group Euroconsumers to file a formal complaint with the European Commission over prices. The organization has criticized both the exorbitant face prices and FIFA's use of "dynamic pricing" for the first time at a World Cup. FIFA says remaining tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, with fans able to select specific seats starting April 1.
