Two San Antonio men face felony charges after England's World Cup equipment disappeared during the team's move from Florida to Kansas City. Mustafa Salik and Erfan Kamal were charged with receiving stolen property, a Class D felony carrying up to seven years in prison, with bond set at $75,000 each.

Prosecutors say the stolen items, valued at approximately $18,000, included nine pairs of cleats, goalkeeper gloves, a World Cup soccer ball, signed jerseys, and electronics. The gear was taken while England traveled between their pre-training base and World Cup headquarters in Kansas City, though prosecutors emphasized the stolen property wasn't essential to team preparations.

England players downplayed the incident's impact. Backup goalkeeper Dean Henderson confirmed his boots and gloves were recovered, while defender Dan Burn joked about potentially being unable to move without his gear. Both players said the team hasn't dwelled on the matter, focusing instead on their World Cup preparations.

Jackson County prosecutor Melesa Johnson condemned the targeting of World Cup visitors, and Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas praised the multi-state investigation. Despite the theft, England's base in Kansas City offers strategic advantages for their tournament schedule, with short flights to matches in Texas, Massachusetts, and New Jersey.
