Chelsea have agreed a £117 million deal with Aston Villa for winger Morgan Rogers, sources have told ESPN. The agreement would make Rogers the most expensive British player ever, surpassing the £116 million Manchester City paid for Elliot Anderson.

Arsenal were also interested, but Chelsea moved swiftly to secure the 23-year-old. Rogers reportedly wanted to finalize his future after England's World Cup campaign. He is expected to undergo a medical on Monday after returning from the United States.

Rogers is said to have agreed to a six-year contract and preferred a move to Chelsea over Arsenal. He joined Villa from Middlesbrough in February 2024 for £15 million and has since scored 31 goals and provided 29 assists in 125 appearances. He featured in England's World Cup semifinal loss to Argentina.
