Michael Carrick said he is 'not surprised' to still be Manchester United manager after the team failed to win any of its past eight games and suffered its worst league start in 40 years. Despite a 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth that sparked rumors of his dismissal, Carrick will remain in charge for the upcoming Chelsea clash following meetings with the club hierarchy. The 45-year-old former United midfielder emphasized he has no need for job assurances, stating he understands the responsibilities and is focused on improvement.
Carrick acknowledged the different atmosphere in the stadium post-Bournemouth but remains committed to making the team better. He stressed his focus is on what he needs to see rather than external noise, caring deeply about supporter experience and the club's direction.
