Goalkeeper Michaely Bihina was named Player of the Match, making crucial saves against Malawi's tournament top scorer Temwa Chawinga.

Malawi goalkeeper Mercy Sikelo struggled throughout, conceding goals after errors in the 20th and 30th minutes. Despite Malawi's valiant debut campaign having entered the tournament ranked 153rd in the world, they were never able to recover from Cameroon's clinical finishing. The victory marked Cameroon's third WAFCON title, ending years of near-misses as three-time finalists.
