Ousseni Bouda scored twice as the San Jose Earthquakes stunned Los Angeles FC 4-1 on Sunday night, ending Hugo Lloris' scoreless streak at 593 minutes. The victory moves San Jose into a first-place tie with Vancouver Whitecaps in the Western Conference and Supporters' Shield races. This marks the Earthquakes' second season under coach Bruce Arena.

Timo Werner, returning from a lower-body injury, scored his first MLS goal and provided an assist in the 56th minute. Beau Leroux contributed two assists, matching his total from last season in just 33 appearances. The Earthquakes scored three goals in a six-minute span, including an own goal by Ryan Porteous in the 59th minute.

LAFC, which entered the match 6-0-1 at BMO Stadium in all competitions, suffered its second straight loss. Lloris made two saves in the defeat. San Jose has now won all four of its road matches this season, demonstrating their strength away from home.
