Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said the Premier League remains the best league in the world, even after Manchester City was found guilty of breaching financial regulations.
The verdict has dominated headlines and sparked debate across the football industry about the governance and competitive balance of the English top flight. Arteta, however, chose to focus on the quality of the competition rather than the off-field controversy surrounding one of the league's most successful clubs.
His comments reflect a broader view among many in the game that the Premier League's appeal lies in its intensity, depth and global audience. Managers and players across the league regularly point to the unpredictability of matches and the number of teams capable of challenging for trophies as evidence of its strength.
