Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams will miss Friday's Premier League clash against Manchester United due to a quadriceps injury, confirmed manager Andoni Iraola. The U.S. international, who was not selected by national team coach Mauricio Pochettino for upcoming friendlies against Belgium and Portugal, faces a two to three week layoff after returning from a previous injury. Adams' absence is another blow to Bournemouth's midfield.

Adams, the captain at the 2022 World Cup, had previously suffered a torn MCL on Dec. 15, 2025, missing two to three months of action. He returned to the field on Feb. 12 against West Ham before sustaining his latest setback. Bournemouth has only described the issue as an "injury problem" before their trip to Burnley last Saturday. The American midfielder has struggled with injuries this season.

The injury comes as the U.S. prepares for the World Cup, with friendlies against Belgium and Portugal upcoming before facing Senegal and Germany on May 31 and June 6. The Americans open their World Cup campaign against Paraguay on June 12 in Inglewood, California. Adams' recovery timeline puts his participation in the tournament in serious doubt.
