Utah Mammoth Unveils ‘Zammoth’ Fan Ride at Delta Center

The Utah Mammoth rolled out the Zammoth, a 17‑foot ice‑blue mammoth built from a 2002 Olympic Zamboni, for its home clash with the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday. Up to eight spectators can hop aboard as it cruises the ice during pre‑game and intermissions, complete with glowing eyes, 3‑D‑printed tusks and a sound‑light show.

Owner Ryan Smith described the contraption as “a fan mobile unlike any other,” while Chris Barney of Smith Entertainment Group explained that the historic Zamboni was repurposed after a partnership with Diesel Brothers and artist Billy Luber. The machine no longer resurfaces ice; modern resurfacers handle that job, leaving the Zammoth to entertain crowds.

The Mammoth sit in the Western Conference’s first wild‑card slot, chasing their inaugural playoff berth. Introducing the Zammoth adds a distinctive attraction to a franchise that has struggled for postseason relevance, giving fans a memorable experience that could boost attendance as the team pushes for a postseason push.
