The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed forward Tommy Novak to a three-year contract extension, the team announced Friday. The deal, which commences with the 2027-28 season, has an annual average value of $4.65 million.

Novak, 29, registered 16 goals and 26 points in 82 games last season, contributing to the Penguins' return to the playoffs after a three-year drought. He spent his first full season in Pittsburgh primarily on the second and third lines. He was slated to become an unrestricted free agent next summer.

This extension ensures Novak remains with the Penguins through the end of the decade. It also positions him as a key player for the club as they navigate the post-era of veterans like Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Kris Letang.
