Kasperi Kapanen broke a tie with 1:54 remaining in the third period, lifting the Edmonton Oilers to a 4-3 victory over the Anaheim Ducks in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series Monday night. Jason Dickinson also scored twice for Edmonton, which trailed 3-2 entering the final frame before mounting the comeback at Rogers Place.

Leon Draisaitl returned after missing the final 14 regular-season games with a lower-body injury, recording two assists in his first game back. "I felt OK. Certainly going to take a couple games to really be myself, and really trust myself again," Draisaitl said. Connor Ingram made 25 saves in his first postseason start for the Oilers, including a spectacular stop in the closing seconds.

Troy Terry had two goals and an assist for the Ducks, while Leo Carlsson also scored. Anaheim goaltender Lukas Dostal stopped 30 shots in the loss. The Ducks qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 2018. Game 2 is scheduled for Wednesday night in Edmonton.
