Carolina Hurricanes beat the Montreal Canadiens 3-2 in overtime, snapping a 10-game home losing streak in the conference finals and evening the series at 1-1. Nikolaj Ehlers scored twice, including the OT winner just 3:29 into the extra period, while Carolina's defense held Montreal to 12 shots on goal.

The Canadiens had stolen home-ice advantage with a Game 1 win in Raleigh, but Jakub Dobes made 23 saves to keep things close. Carolina's Jaccob Slavin and Jalen Chatfield were dominant on the back end, and Frederik Andersen bounced back from a rough first game. Montreal's depth scoring came from Josh Anderson, who netted two goals.

Carolina recovered from a first-period disaster in Game 1 to show defensive structure in Game 2. The Hurricanes still face a tough path: teams that lose their first two home games in a best-of-seven conference finals have gone 0-13 since 1982. Taylor Hall remains a concern for Carolina, with no points and a minus-3 through two games.
