Terry has been Anaheim's most consistent offensive contributor for five years, posting at least 19 goals and 50 points annually. He recorded 57 points last season and added three goals with eight assists in 12 playoff games, the first postseason action of his career. His absence at the start of the next season would represent a significant blow to the Ducks' offense.

The team's postseason was marked by injury concerns beyond Terry. Cutter Gauthier played through two fractured vertebrae, having been injured in late March but returning after missing only five games. He contributed 12 points during the playoffs.
