The United Football League (UFL) has confirmed plans to add a team in Oklahoma City starting the 2028 season, marking its first expansion outside the original eight-team league. The franchise will play at the MAPS 4 Multipurpose Stadium, a soccer-specific venue under construction downtown that will accommodate 10,000 fans. UFL president Russ Brandon called Oklahoma City "the perfect fit" for football, citing its deep-rooted passion for the sport.

The expansion aligns with co-owner Mike Repole’s vision to grow the league to 16 teams by 2035, doubling its current size.
