CBS NFL analyst and former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was arrested last week on suspicion of driving under the influence. Authorities stated an open container of alcohol was discovered in his vehicle during an inventory before it was towed.

Police stopped Romo on Interstate 43 on July 23 after observing him passing cars in a gore area. According to body camera footage, Romo claimed he was traveling from a golf course to visit his grandparents. A deputy noted "red glassy eyes" and an "odor of an intoxicating alcoholic beverage." Romo subsequently performed poorly on sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

Court records indicate Romo was later cited for refusing a post-arrest intoxication test. He has a court appearance scheduled for September 21. Romo, 46, played for the Cowboys from 2004 to 2016, holding the franchise record for career touchdown passes with 248.
