Houston Texans wideout Jayden Higgins will miss the remainder of the 2026 season after suffering a torn ACL during Tuesday's joint practice with the Las Vegas Raiders, according to sources cited by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The injury occurred during red zone 11-on-11 drills when Higgins ran an end zone route and fell awkwardly. Coach De Meco Ryans confirmed the team was evaluating the severity of the injury.

Higgins, a 2025 second-round pick, showed promise during training camp and had a solid rookie season in 2025 with 525 receiving yards and six touchdowns across 10 starts. The Texans will now lean more heavily on Xavier Hutchinson, Tank Dell, and Jaylin Noel to fill the void in the receiving corps. Hutchinson, who posted career highs last season with 35 receptions for 428 yards and three touchdowns, will likely see increased playing time.

However, Dell and Noel have had limited participation in training camp as both continue recovering from their own injuries. Dell is returning from a serious knee injury sustained in December 2024, while Noel has battled a broken finger and hamstring tightness throughout camp.
