The Baltimore Ravens have agreed to a three-year, $30 million contract with guard John Simpson, according to NFL Network. This marks Simpson's return to Baltimore after he left the team two years ago to sign with the New York Jets in free agency. The 28-year-old veteran had spent the past two seasons with the Jets, starting every game and extending his consecutive starts streak to 51.

Simpson's tenure with the Jets was marked by inconsistency. He led all offensive linemen with 11 penalties for 106 yards in 2025, including three unnecessary roughness calls that highlighted his tendency to lose composure. As a blocker, Simpson ranked 12th out of 17 qualifying left guards in pressure percentage allowed at 7.8%, according to NFL Next Gen Stats. His physical attributes include a 6-foot-4, 330-pound frame.

The Ravens originally drafted Simpson in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Clemson. After losing his starting job with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022 and being released, he found success in Baltimore, starting 17 games for the team in 2023. For his career, Simpson has appeared in 86 games with 72 starts.
