MELBOURNE, Australia -- Los Angeles Rams star Myles Garrett labeled his performance in Friday's 27-7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers as "the worst version of myself," revealing his knee was not fully healthy. Garrett, acquired via trade this offseason after setting the single-season sack record with the Cleveland Browns in 2024, missed most of training camp due to knee swelling. He wore a sleeve on his left leg during practices but declined to specify which knee was injured. Garrett recorded zero tackles for the first time since Week 11 of 2024 and just the fourth time in his career, per ESPN Research. He registered only three pressures as the Rams pressured Brock Purdy on merely 19% of dropbacks.

Rams coach Sean Mc Vay initially said Garrett was "feeling about 85%" during camp but stated Friday he believed Garrett was 100% healthy. Garrett acknowledged being preoccupied with his health during the game: "When I was out there, I was a little bit more focused on myself and trying to stay healthy than what they were doing."

San Francisco left tackle Trent Williams said he "couldn't tell" Garrett was hindered, calling him "still really hard to block." 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan praised his offensive line's "unbelievable job" and said the game plan didn't change despite Aaron Donald's absence.
