Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been fully cleared by the team's medical staff and Dr. Dan Cooper to participate in training camp, marking a significant step in his recovery from a torn ACL and LCL in his left knee. Mahomes expressed feeling "amazing" and stronger than ever, eager to be back on the field with his teammates after months of rehabilitation.

Mahomes is expected to lead the first-team offense during team periods, demonstrating his ability to run, cut, and change direction. Coach Andy Reid indicated no plans to limit his repetitions. Mahomes will be reunited with key offensive players, including Kenneth Walker III, Travis Kelce, Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, and Tyquan Thornton, for the first time since his injury in December.

Mahomes aims to be ready for the Chiefs' season opener on September 14 against the Denver Broncos. He plans to use camp practices to prove his pre-injury capabilities, focusing on pocket movement, decision-making, and quicker throws. He has received encouragement from Tom Brady and Tyrann Mathieu, who also recovered from ACL tears.
