The Carolina Panthers have re-signed veteran safety Nick Scott to a one-year contract, the team announced Saturday. The 30-year-old defensive back, who recorded a career-high 111 tackles last season, returns to Carolina after initially joining the team on a one-year deal in 2025.

Scott proved his value immediately, starting all 17 games and making crucial plays throughout the season. His interception of Matthew Stafford in the end zone helped secure Carolina's upset victory over the Rams in Week 13. He also contributed nine tackles in the Panthers' first-round playoff loss to Los Angeles.

The seventh-round draft pick from 2019 brings five career interceptions and 355 tackles to Carolina's secondary. Beyond his on-field production, Scott's leadership was instrumental in helping head coach Dave Canales establish the defensive culture he envisions for the franchise.
