Seven quarterbacks cracked ESPN's top 25 in Mel Kiper Jr.'s first 2027 NFL Draft Big Board, a sign that this class could be a fun one for teams searching for signal-callers.
Kiper released the rankings as the college football season reached its midway point. The board stacks the best prospects available so far, with quarterbacks making up a significant share of the top tier. Kiper's rankings are closely watched by fans and front offices alike, and early boards like this one often shift considerably as the season unfolds, with players rising or falling based on performance, injuries and the scouting process.
The quarterback depth is the most notable feature of the early look. Having seven passers among the top 25 suggests the position could be particularly deep in this class, giving teams multiple paths to a franchise player. That kind of depth can also influence how teams approach trades and draft-day strategy.
For now, the board offers a first snapshot of a draft class still taking shape. Kiper's full ranking provides a detailed look at where each prospect currently stands, and fans can expect plenty of movement before the 2027 draft arrives.
