Philadelphia Eagles outside linebacker Jonathan Greenard has been placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list due to a pec strain sustained before training camp. The injury is not anticipated to be a long-term concern for the team.

The Eagles acquired Greenard, 29, from the Minnesota Vikings in April, agreeing to a four-year, $100 million extension. This move was seen as a way to compensate for the departure of Jaelan Phillips. Greenard was expected to fill a starting role and lead the linebacker group alongside Jalyx Hunt and Nolan Smith Jr.

Last season, Greenard recorded three sacks in 12 games. Previously, he had two double-digit sack seasons with the Vikings. His career began with the Houston Texans, followed by a significant contract with the Vikings in 2024, where he earned a Pro Bowl selection in his first year before a shoulder injury ended his 2025 season prematurely.
