The New York Jets have bolstered their receiving corps by agreeing to terms with veteran wide receiver Tim Patrick on a one-year deal worth $1.5 million. The 32-year-old visited the team facility Wednesday and will provide much-needed experience to a young group after the Jets added rookie Omar Cooper Jr. in the first round.

Patrick comes off a season with the Jacksonville Jaguars where he caught 15 passes for 187 yards and three touchdowns. The Jets wanted a veteran presence for Garrett Wilson, Isaiah Williams, and Adonai Mitchell, all 25 or younger. Patrick's size at 6-foot-5 and position flexibility give the Jets options on offense.

The connection runs deep between Patrick and Jets coach Aaron Glenn, who was the Lions' defensive coordinator in 2024 when Patrick played in Detroit. Jets GM Darren Mougey worked with Patrick during his six seasons with the Broncos. While injuries limited Patrick in 2022-23, his 2020-21 production of 104 receptions for 1,476 yards shows the upside for New York.
