Jackson hails Doyle's revamped Ravens offense

Quarterback Lamar Jackson left minicamp buzzing about Baltimore’s revamped offense under 30‑year‑old coordinator Declan Doyle. Jackson praised Doyle’s play‑calling imagination, saying the scheme will bring “a lot of explosiveness” this season. He entered the offseason after a 6‑7 campaign, the first losing record of his career, and an offense that managed just 332.2 yards per game, its lowest output since 2017 overall for the team.

Jackson has logged more voluntary workouts than usual, drilling new terminology and building rapport with Doyle. The duo’s chemistry showed when a mis‑executed bootleg earned a light‑hearted rebuke from the coach during practice. Pro Bowl safety Kyle Hamilton likened Jackson’s current form to a two‑time MVP, noting the quarterback still moves with Louisville‑era agility despite approaching his 30th birthday.

The offseason also removed a longtime nightmare for Jackson: former Browns pass‑rusher Myles Garrett, now with the Rams, will no longer line up against him. Garrett had sacked Jackson 12 times in 13 meetings, the most of any defender. With Garrett gone but new threats like Jared Verse looming, Jackson expects the revamped attack to keep defenses guessing.
