The New York Giants have hired former Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan as their quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator, sources told ESPN. Callahan, 41, was fired by the Titans in mid-October after going 4-19 in his tenure, including a 1-5 start this past season with rookie quarterback Cam Ward.

Before his head coaching stint, Callahan built a strong reputation working with quarterbacks, including Matthew Stafford, Derek Carr, and Joe Burrow. He spent two years as Stafford's quarterback coach with the Detroit Lions, a season with Carr in Las Vegas, and four years as offensive coordinator for Burrow in Cincinnati. His hiring gives Giants head coach John Harbaugh a wealth of experience on his new offensive staff, which includes former NFL head coaches Matt Nagy and Callahan, along with offensive line coach Mike Bloomgren and senior offensive assistant Greg Roman.

Callahan now transitions from coaching last year's first overall pick to this year's second quarterback selected, Jaxson Dart. He'll work with Dart and veteran Jameis Winston in the Giants' quarterbacks room, while also overseeing the passing game. This move represents a return to Callahan's roots after his struggles as a head coach, where the Titans' offense scored only 83 points through six games this season, the franchise's fewest since 1985.
