The Atlanta Falcons will play a game in Madrid this season as part of the NFL's international expansion. The game will be held at the Bernabéu Stadium, home of Real Madrid, as part of a multiyear partnership with the city of Madrid and Comunidad de Madrid. The NFL announced the matchup Tuesday morning, though it's unclear if the Falcons will be the home or away team.

This marks the NFL's second game in Madrid and the sixth Falcons regular-season game internationally. The Falcons previously played as the road team against the Indianapolis Colts in Berlin last season. The matchup will be part of a record nine international games this coming NFL season, with Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta set to host two Spain games during the upcoming World Cup.

The Falcons' international appearance continues the league's push into global markets. While Atlanta's opponent wasn't announced, the team had previously been scheduled to host an international game in 2026. Falcons president and CEO Greg Beadles called the Madrid game a "perfect fit" given the World Cup connection.
