Blaise Taylor, a former defensive back for Arkansas State and a scout with the Tennessee Titans, has been found guilty of murdering his girlfriend, Jade Benning, and her unborn child. A Nashville jury delivered the verdict Wednesday. Taylor was accused of poisoning Benning with cocaine in February 2023, leading to her death on March 6, her 25th birthday. The fetus died weeks earlier.

Taylor, 30, faces a potential sentence of life in prison without parole. The jury convicted him on four counts, including second-degree murder of Benning and first-degree murder of the unborn child. He was arrested in 2024 while working as a defensive analyst for the University of Utah. His prior NFL experience included four years in the Titans' scouting department.

Before his NFL and college coaching roles, Taylor was a standout player at Arkansas State. He was a four-year starter from 2014-2017, serving as team captain and earning All-Sun Belt honors as a defensive back and punt returner. The sentencing phase for Taylor is now underway.
