The Dallas Cowboys acquired Broderick Jones from the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday in exchange for a future third- and sixth-round pick, sources told ESPN. The Steelers also sent a fourth-round pick to Dallas as part of the deal, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Jones, the Steelers' 2023 first-round selection at No. 14 overall, was the team's starting left tackle in 2025 before suffering a season-ending neck injury in Week 11 against the Chicago Bears. After spinal fusion surgery and a lengthy recovery, Jones was cleared for football activities at the start of training camp but struggled to regain his form.

Pittsburgh declined Jones' fifth-year option and used their 2026 first-round pick on tackle Max Iheanachor, also moving 2024 first-rounder Troy Fautanu from right to left tackle. Jones primarily took backup reps at right tackle during camp.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the team would be "very, very aggressive" in filling out their roster, seeking to upgrade the swing tackle position. Jones can serve as the Cowboys' swing tackle and provide competition for Terence Steele, who signed a revised $33 million deal this offseason.
